"I will be. Seriously...don't worry," Lexie said, shaking her head at Hunter. He really needed to worry less.

"I'll see you really soon. I promise," Lexie told Hunter, smiling at him. She couldn't help but do it around him. He just made her smile, even if it was really for no reason at all. But she liked smiling. So, it was all good.

Hunter nodded with a returning smile. He hoped they would see each other again really soon and that this wasn't just some joke or something that his mother and Alice had set up. He would actually hate to think that last night was all just a lie. He wanted more of those kisses and the cuddling in the future. Please and thank you.
"When are you going back home?" he asked, curiously. He wanted to hang out again before she left for Nashville, but he didn't know how long he had to do so. He knew they were going skiing (his mom had replayed her conversation with Destin and Alice for him), and he hoped they'd come back here before heading out.

"I think that we're leaving in about five days or so," Lexie told Hunter, looking at him. She smiled at him, knowing he wanted to know when they could hang out again. She could read this boy like a book, pretty much. "I don't know how long we'll be skiing for, but I'm sure it's going to be for the rest of the time here, except for like a day. So, that's not going to leave us much time to hang when I come back..."

Hunter didn't really like the idea of only getting to see her one more time before she went back to Nashville, but there really wasn't much he could do. He'd just have to wait until Lexie came back around to see her grandparents...and he would wait. Hunter could wait for her if he had to. "Well," he began, reaching out his left hand and tucking a stray strand of hair behind her right ear. "We'll just make the most of what we've got."
He studied her eyes with a slight smile. Hopefully she'd realize that he meant what he was saying.

"Of course we will," Lexie told Hunter, returning a smile back at him, but only bigger than his own. She leaned in closer to him, planting a kiss onto his lips. She pulled away, the smile reappearing on her face. "Don't worry about it. It'll be worth while. I promise you."
Colton was watching the whole thing going down in the truck and he had a sort of aggravated look on his face. She wasn't even here for a full day and there was already a boy kissing her on the lips. He knew what she had been doing last night. And this just confirmed his thoughts. He began walking over to the truck, on the passenger side. He rapped on the window, his face looking quite stern now. "Get out of the damn truck," Colton said, his tone just like the expression on his face. He opened the truck door, waiting for her to get out.
Lexie sighed, shaking her head. "That's my brother...Colton. Don't mind him," she told Hunter, sarcastically.

Hunter was thinking about what they could do on their next/last day together when the rapping on the window interrupted his train of thought. He knew it couldn't be good and was starting to wish that he had just dropped her off and said he'd call instead of sitting in his truck to have a chat. Afterall, she was already two hours late. How were they even supposed to have a chance at getting some time to plot before someone came out?
Hunter heard what Lexie said and looked around her to see Colton. He nodded in their direction, not really sure what to say in this moment. He'd never really dealt with an angry protective brother before, or much for that matter. "I've gotta go," he replied, unsurely. He put the truck in reverse, but didn't take his foot off of the brake. He didn't want to hurt anyone.

"Right," Lexie said, nodding her head at Hunter. She hopped out of the truck, putting a hand on the door, saying her goodbye to Hunter. "I'll just call you sometime. See ya."
She shut the door, taking a step back, crossing her arms. She watched as Hunter went into reverse and then, drove down the road to go back to his apartment. Or wherever he planned on going. Lexie turned to look at Colton, glaring at him. "What the hell is your problem? If you didn't notice we were having a conversation before you butted in," she said, bitterly.
"Oh, alright. Next time I won't save your ass when Dad is asking where the hell you are every ten minutes. You owe me a hell of a lot, just so you could see some damn guy," Colton retorted, rolling his eyes. "You better get inside before he starts calling the police to look out for you."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever," Lexie said, shaking her head.

Destin was in the living room, trying to figure out just what to do. He didn't know what places young people liked to hang out at, since it had surely changed since he lived here. If Lexie wasn't home in five minutes, he was calling the cops to look for her and going out to look for her himself. He didn't think anything bad would happen to her in this town, but you really never know. Destin didn't understand why she would sneak out anyway. There still wasn't anything to do in this town all these years later and she couldn't possibly know anyone here.
Just as Destin was walking over to pick up the phone and count the minutes before he'd make the call, he heard two familiar voices outside. He instantly knew one was Lexie and headed for the front door. She wasn't getting out of here without questioning. Destin opened the door and stepped outside, blocking the way for anyone to go in.
"Where the hell have you been?" he asked in a stern tone, yet there was a hint of relief in there.

Lexie heard the voice of her father, sighing inwardly, then looking at him with a normal expression on her face. "I was just hanging out with a friend. There was nothing to really worry about. I texted Colton last night," she said, telling Destin the truth. She did actually text her little brother, but she just didn't tell him what she was doing. But it wasn't even anything major at all.

"Well, it might've been nice to have heard you tell me you were going out instead of finding your room empty this morning," Destin pointed out, crossing his arms. He had never been more relieved than to see that she was ok, though. He could be mad all her wanted, but Lexie wasn't hurt or missing or anything. "Who's your friend? I didn't know you socialized with people here."

"Oh, you know him. Hunter. Abbi's boy," Lexie told Destin, shrugging her shoulders. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, not seeing the big deal here. Ok...so she did sneak out of the house and stay out all night. It wasn't her fault, though. It was Hunter's. "We just had some hot chocolate, then it got cold. So we went to his room and got under the covers, and we both fell asleep. I was going to have him bring me home, but he fell asleep too."

Destin was a little taken back at hearing that Lexie had been with Abbi's son Hunter all night. He would have never expected those two to hit it off and why, he really didn't know. He didn't really know Hunter. He knew of him and was around him a few times when Hunter was a toddler, but that was because of Alice and Abbi's friendship. He didn't really know this adult Hunter, which made him also realize that Hunter would have to be a good five plus years older than Lexie. Destin wasn't really fond of that idea and his thoughts definitely changed after hearing Lexie explain how her night went. "Get in the house," he demanded, side-stepping away from the door and pointing at it with his right thumb. Being cold and getting under the covers in a bed did not sound very innocent to him. "Your mom's worried about you and I'm sure she'll love hearing about what you two did last night."

Lexie gave her father a look of disbelief. She couldn't believe that he would assume they did anything, especially something that could involve sex. "You've got to be kidding me, right?" she asked Destin, furrowing her eyebrows at him. She walked past him, her arms still crossed in front of her. She called back to Destin, seeing she was leaving that room and going to a different one without judgmental people. "I'm not some slut, you know! But I guess you don't know me as well as you think you do!"
"Ten bucks says she did do it," Colton said, stepping inside of the house as he watched Lexie leave the room.

"Enough, Colton," Destin replied as he stepped inside the house and closed the door behind himself. He didn't really think betting on his daughter's love life was exactly what he needed to be doing right about now. He wasn't even happy with the idea that anything at all had happened. He decided he would follow Lexie and have a conversation with her and her mother. He headed after Lexie, then stopped at looked at Colton. "Why don't you go see what your grandpa's up to?" He didn't need Colton in there throwing out sarcasm. There would be enough of that with Destin in the room.

"Why do I always have to miss all the good stuff?" Colton asked his father, then sighed, trudging off to find his grandfather before Destin could ground him or something stupid like that. He always had to miss a good discussion that involved his parents and Lexie. One of these days he'd be able to hear one. He'd make sure of it.
Lexie walked into the kitchen, finding her mother in there. "Your slutty daughter is home," she said, in a bitterly sarcastic tone. Her father had really set her off and she was going to let him know it, too.
Alice turned to look at Lexie, making a surprised expression on her face. "What are you talking about, Lex?" she asked her daughter, watching her now. "I am so glad that you are home, though."
"Yeah, yeah. Dad pretty much called me a whore. I explained what I was doing last night, and he makes it out like me and Hunter had sex or something. All we did was have hot chocolate and fell asleep," Lexie said, shaking her head. "I'm not that easy."
